But if you wanna slowly start putting your own kickass UI together, tracking all your CD’s and debuffs and whatnot, then the performance between things done the right or wrong way can be hundreds of times worse and have severe effects on your fps. As a user it often doesn’t matter for a single WA here and there. Many things in weakauras can be accomplished in different ways, and there’s no saying if the WA you find uses a sane method. I would be a bit hesitant to use many of the WA’s there as a learning-source though. Is a great source for drop in weakauras as a user. After that, play around with the things on the “Display” Tab, “Animations” Tab (use Presets) and “Load” tab (like maybe only activate the WA while you’re in an instance). Then drag the WeakAura (just like before) to the actual position where you would like to have it.

Though you may want to re-open /wa, select your WeakAura on the left side, go to the “Display” Tab, change some of the settings here such as the Width & Height. After 10 seconds orso, when the spell comes off cooldown, you will hear the selected sound effect, and the icon pops back on the screen indicating it can be used. You should notice that the icon now went away because the spell is on cooldown.Use your Holy Fire ability, against a training dummy for example. You should notice that the Holy Fire icon is currently visible on the screen, in the top left, where you placed it.Click the Close button in the topright to close the WeakAuras screen (don’t worry, it auto-saved) Directly next to that, change “ Sound Channel” to “ Sound Effects”.Below that, change “Sound” to whatever sound effect you like, i recommend “Bike horn”.On roughly the 4th line or so, enable the “Play Sound” option. At the top of the screen, go to the “Actions” tab.

If you look at the WeakAura (in the top left of your screen) you should notice that its icon has now changed to the icon of Holy Fire, this is one of the side effects of what we just did.Now a “ Spell” option appears directly below, here you can indicate the relevant spell, in this case we type “Holy Fire” (make sure you type that exactly as i did, just like how it appears in the spell book), then press Enter to confirm. Now a “ Status” option appears directly below, which you can change from “Health” to “ Action Usable”.On the third line or so, under the “Trigger 1” heading, you can change its “ Type” from “Aura” to “ Status”.At the top of the screen, go to the “Trigger” tab.Our WeakAura should still be selected on the left side. Now click the collapse button again to make WeakAuras re-appear.Move our WeakAura to some other place where it wouldn’t be obscured by the WeakAuras screen that we were working in, lets move it to the top left corner of the screen for example. You should see a black square with a questionmark on it in the center of your screen, this is the WeakAura that we’re currently creating. Now in the topright corner, right next to the familiar -close button, is a little red button with an up arrow on it, this is the collapse/uncollapse button, click the button to make the WeakAura screen collapse (small). On the left side you can now give this weakaura a name, lets change the name to “Holy Fire Tracker” and press enter to confirm the name.On the right side, select “ Icon: shows a spell icon with an optional cooldown overlay”.In the top left corner, click on “ New”.Go to a safe area where you can use Holy Fire (At the training dummies in Orgrimmar for example).

I see you’re a Priest currently in Holy spec, so lets use “Holy Fire” as an example. That said, i can give you the steps to creating just that. I’m not so sure a script like that would serve as a particularly good learning tool (i think you’d benefit more from reading some guides tbh).
